# Corporate Registrations
> Validates the legal entity behind a vendor against public business registers, with a citation for every fact.
Most vendor records start life as a name and a website. **Corporate Registrations** answers the question that sits underneath every other piece of diligence. Is there a real, currently registered company behind this, and is it the one we think it is?
It runs automatically once a vendor has a website on file, and appears as the first subtab of a vendor's **Vendor Intelligence** section.
## Where the data comes from
All sources are public and free. Nothing here requires a procurement conversation.

## Read the verdict first
The page leads with a match decision rather than with identifiers, because every identifier below it is only meaningful once you know they belong to *this* vendor.
A registered company was bound with high confidence. The identifiers can be relied on.
Something plausible was found but not confirmed. Two companies sharing a trading name in one jurisdiction is the usual cause. Check the identifiers before using them.
Nothing credible matched. Common for very small, very new, or non-corporate suppliers.
A match confidence accompanies the decision. Treat it as a measure of binding certainty, meaning how sure we are that these records describe your vendor. It says nothing about the company's health.
## What the page shows
LEI, company number, SEC CIK and DUNS. These are the registry keys that let you look the company up independently, anywhere else.
Whether the company is currently active, dissolved or inactive; its jurisdiction; incorporation date; whether it is publicly listed and under what ticker; and its industry classification.
A **dissolved** status on a vendor you are actively paying is one of the highest-signal findings in the product. It usually means a restructure nobody told you about, or that you are contracting with an entity that no longer exists.
The registered and headquarters addresses on file with the registers. These frequently differ from the trading address a vendor gives you, which is normal and not itself a finding.
Every register checked and the identifier it returned, each linking back to the source record. Citations are listed per lookup rather than collapsed to one row per register, so it stays visible which fact rests on which record.
Caveats recorded while matching: why a candidate was rejected, or why two remain in contention.
## How it's used elsewhere
Corporate registration data is not just a page. It feeds:
* **Financial Health Score.** Corporate standing is one of the scored pillars, and registry identifiers are how a vendor is resolved to filings in the first place.
* **Zero Touch Assessments.** Registration validation can be included as a scored component of the composite.
* **The vendor fact sheet.** The validated legal name and status appear in the company profile.
A missing registration record is not a red flag on its own. Sole traders, partnerships, and vendors in jurisdictions with no open registry data will legitimately return nothing. What matters is a record that comes back **dissolved**, or one that comes back describing a different company than the one you thought you were buying from.
