Coverbase Screening checks whether a vendor, or a person who runs or owns it, appears on a sanctions list, a watchlist, a politically exposed person (PEP) register, a criminal or legal record, or in adverse news. It checks at intake, again on a schedule for as long as you keep the vendor, and whenever you ask.
Every screen is recorded, including the ones that find nothing. “We screened this vendor on this date against these sources and found nothing” is the record an examiner asks for, so Coverbase keeps it whether or not there is anything to review.
What you can screen
People are opt in because screening a person means storing watchlist results about a named individual. Turn them on when your program needs them.
What you can screen against
Screening covers five sources. Each is a separate lookup that you switch on or off for your whole organization.
The full catalog of lists, PEP roles and adverse media categories is in Screening coverage and sources.
How it works
1
Pick your sources and subjects
An administrator chooses which sources run and who is screened under Configuration → Monitoring → Screening.
2
Pick which vendors are monitored
Monitoring is switched on per risk level, so you can monitor your critical and high risk vendors continuously and leave the long tail to intake and on demand screens.
3
Coverbase screens on a schedule
A monitored vendor is re-screened on a cadence set per source. By default that is daily for sanctions and monthly for PEP and adverse media. Each screen lands in the vendor’s run history.
4
A person reviews every match
A possible match goes to the Screening queue and opens a finding with an owner and a due date. An analyst confirms it, marks it not a match, or allowlists it for 180 days. Coverbase never decides a match for you.
Where screening runs
- At intake. The intake portal’s pre-qualification step screens a requested vendor before anyone commits to it. See Screen a vendor at intake.
- On a schedule. Monitored vendors are re-screened for as long as they stay monitored.
- On demand. Screen now on a vendor’s Screening tab, and Ad hoc screen on the queue for a name you want checked once.
Included, and configured on request
Most of screening is switched on from the settings page. Some options are set up by Coverbase for your workspace, and some carry an additional charge. Contact your Coverbase account team or support@coverbase.ai to change them.
Each monitored subject is a standing subscription, and every on demand screen is metered. Your account team can tell you what your plan includes.
