This page is part of the User Guides collection. Read it when you are building a dashboard for a board pack, a programme review or a renewal negotiation and want to know what is already available before you build a chart from scratch.
A dashboard in Coverbase is a grid of charts drawn from live workspace data across vendors, assessments, findings, contracts and intake requests. You can build one chart at a time, but most reporting questions have already been answered: the library ships 10 ready-made dashboards and 76 individual charts, each written for a specific job rather than for a table in the database.Open them from Dashboards: Browse templates starts a whole dashboard, and Chart library on any open dashboard adds individual charts to it.
Applying a template makes a copy you own. The charts and the dashboard become ordinary records in your workspace, editable like any other. Retitle them, change the measure, re-slice them, resize them, delete them. Nothing syncs back: later changes to the Coverbase template never reach your copy, and your edits never leave your workspace.
Each one is a laid-out set of charts from the library, sized for a 12-column grid and ordered so the headline numbers sit at the top.

The dashboards above draw on 62 of the library’s charts. Every one of them is also available on its own, along with 14 more that no packaged dashboard uses. Open Chart library from a dashboard, search or pick a shelf, select as many as you want, and they are added below whatever is already on the grid, so an add never lands on top of a widget you positioned.Charts are filed by the question they answer, not by the table the data comes from, so a spend chart and a vendor chart can sit on the same shelf if they answer the same question.

Selecting a card renders it against your own data in the panel beside the grid, so you can see a real result before you commit it to the dashboard. You can select several and add them in one go.
Chart cards in the library. Each one previews the shape of the chart, says what it shows, and lists the jobs it is meant for.
Search matches names, descriptions and the job labels on each card, so renewals, board reporting and SLA all find something. It also matches the vocabulary your workspace uses: if you have renamed “vendor” to “supplier”, searching for suppliers finds the vendor charts.
The library hides templates your workspace cannot fill, so you never add a chart that can only ever render empty.

A dashboard inherits its charts’ requirements: if any chart on it needs Contracts, the whole dashboard is hidden from workspaces without Contracts rather than arriving with holes in it.The remaining 48 charts and 6 dashboards depend on nothing beyond vendors, assessments and findings, so every workspace sees them.
A template is a starting point, not a fixed report. Once a chart is on your dashboard:
Retitle it. The shipped names are descriptive, not sacred. “Median Assessment Cycle Time” may be “Time to clear a vendor” in your programme.
Change the slice. Most charts group by one dimension and split by another. Swapping either (tag, department, analyst, risk tier, quarter) usually gets you a different question answered by the same chart.
Resize and rearrange. Drag any widget; the grid reflows around it.
Set the date range on the dashboard rather than per chart. Every chart on it follows.
Mix shelves freely. Nothing stops a savings chart sitting next to a cycle-time chart if that is the story your review needs.
Charts read live data with your permissions applied, so two people can open the same dashboard and see different totals. Before circulating a number from a dashboard, check that your audience can see the same scope you can.
